It’s a great moment when your mother casually drops into a conversation that she might not be in her job much longer. Being seen as adult is great when you want to bring your boyfriend to your hometown or when you go off to university, but it sucks when you’ve got to deal with all the scary real life stuff that goes with that. Mature for my age? Pah.
